A great performance, a few months after Menuhin's famed recording with Dorati(Febr. 1957).

Bartok performed his First Piano Concerto in 1927, the Premiere being in Frankfurt with Furtwängler, and in many places afterwards.

In a letter to Frigyes Reiner dated Oct. 28, 1928, he wrote: "Not one of the European performances came up to the standard of precision shown in Cincinatti".

Thus, all the recordings made by Reiner of the music by Bartok is extremely precious, and this one with Menuhin is great!

Many thanks for this treasure!
