Love the Quartetto Italiano & another recording I hadn’t heard. In my early days as a budding quartet player I met Farulli in Fiesole when he came to a concert I gave, we exchanged some compliments through an interpreter, he was a lovely gentleman...& a supreme quartet violist, I was honoured to have met him. This must have been one of his very last appearances with the quartet because ill health forced him to retire from the ensemble in December 1977? Thanks as ever for your fabulous shares!
Great! The Quartetto Italiano was un matched for the Schumann Quartets, and this performance of the best of the three Quartets is a winner! The remainder of the program is on the same level.
