Bruno Walter conducts & plays Wagner

Although all these live recordings are quite rare
and certainly valuable,
the big reason of interest are the "Wesendonck Lieder".

In fact, Walter is not on the podium: he sits at the piano
accompanying one of the greatest Wagnerian singers
of the XX Century, Kirsten Flagstad.

Thanks! And great timing - just yesterday I posted a survey of Walter's career on records with emphasis on the phases prior to his final and best-known Columbia Symphony stereo series. It's at: http://www.classicalnotes.net/features/walter.html
