Rare Toscanini 001: Live recordings with the NYPO
In the last 20 years I've collected many Toscanini recordings.
More or less 250 original CDs, 100 LPs, tapes, 78's, radio recordings, downloads, of course books, articles, photos etc... every possible material.
All considering I'm not really an "Arturo fanatic", but his legacy is really impressive... he was simply the 1st modern conductor, don't you agree?
So, I'm starting this project... It will continue or not, depending on your response ;-)
Here Volume 1 of possibly 100 (?!?).
Including never published, V-Disc, 78 & LP only, many rehearsal sequences or so-rare-you-can't-imagine...
May be you can help me - I Hope - in "filling holes".Send me comments & suggestions!!

This is where we shall probably go hand in hand, Guido. I also have a lot of RARE AT,,,,, I don't have the RCA Collection, for example, but I do have some rarities that many would never have imagined. Lots of rehearsals, which I what I love most. But never as much as another Italian friend I have, the collector of all collectors... I'll tell you someday!
Ahem... may be the same collector? Initials... R.B.?
Nope.... L.C. are the initials of my contact. But there is someone in Buenos Aires who also collects AT. However, LC has incredible sounding sources and he himself does the transfers. Has helped with some of Andrew Rose's remasters.
Schubert? Thank you very much for this post!
A terrific project!
Thank you and look forward to next volume.
Can you reupload this post? The link is invivid now.
From the first few minutes of the Schubert 9th, I can tell that this is an amazing performance. Thank you for sharing this.
Hi guido, on my youtube channel (goodmanmusica) there is a lot of rare Toscanini recordings!
@ goodmanmusica
Thank you
I'm already running there!
L.C. actually has disappeared from his forum too. I do not know why!
really cool idea that beg you to continue and finish; I look forward to future releases
I'm following with true enthusiasm your Toscanini posts! Thanks!
Just discovered your blog. I am a Toscanini admirer for many years. I have some recordings but only in the past two years have I found on the internet the type of rarities you mention. A number have been posted at the Yahoo Groups "ToscaniniFriends".
In any case, I look forward to hearing your treasures.

Hi DonR and welcome on this blog.
Yes, will be a long work, part of the material need to be transferred from lps, old tapes etc, and almost always needs a restoration; or may be I've the same recording in different sources (and I need to compare in order to offer the best) etc etc.
And of course this is not "only" a Toscanini blog ;-)

Just found your blog...gosh you have some treats contained within. Love all the rare Toscanini stuff & the fact you include the information (dates, pictures etc) with the zip! Good stuff, thanks v much.
Me parece un tanto extraño no encontrar grabaciones de Mahler por el maestro Arturo....
Could you please restore the link. Thank you.
