Rare Toscanini 021: Aida and Un ballo in maschera rehearsals




The Rare AT project restarts with
rehearsals for Aida (1949) and Un ballo in maschera (1954).
In appendix the only Bellini recording by Toscanini: Introduction and Druid's Chorus from Norma (December 2,1945).

    Poi nella traccia 5 c'è una sfuriata del Toscanini che preferisco :)
    Ho sentito solo le prove dell'Aida, molto belle, per rivalutare quell'opera ho bisogno di NON ascoltare il suo agghiacciante libretto...

    Povero Ghislanzoni, l'hai stroncato :-)))
    Ma soprattutto povero Verdi, visto che l'Aida 9.5 volte su 10 viene eseguita da schifo. Eppure sarebbe un'opera piena di finezze, soprattutto nelle scene notturne e/o intimistiche. Ma a tutti piace il "bataclan", come lo chiamava lo stesso Peppino. Guerra di qui, guerra di là, gloria all'Egitto ecc. ecc.
