    Oh che bellino!
    Ho preso molti dei dischi che hai condiviso ultimamente (Walter, Scherchen etc), ma non sono ancora riuscito ad ascoltare nulla!

    Avevo anche un Pearl con la Rapsodia e altre registrazioni della Paul Whiteman Orchestra, di Ferde Grofé etc, ma il livello non era granché, pezzi bruttini e registrazioni rudimentali.

    ho anche io questo CD, anche se la copertina me la ricordavo diversa (controllerò'). Qui hanno molto riverberato in fase di remastering, ma sono registrazioni che non si trovano facilmente in circolazione E sentire Gershwin suonare e dirigere la propria musica, ti fa capire che grande musicista e' stato.

    Great download for sumnmer!

    There are some equally fine 78rpm transfers over at:

    The transfers are remarkable considering the dates. Most are contemporary with these Gershwin transfers.

    There is a fabulous American in Paris played by the Gershwin New Light Symphony Orchestra under Nat Skilkret (1929) + a stunning 1927 Rhapsody in Blue played by Mischa Spoliansky with the Julian Fuchs Symphony Orchestra. The sound here is really clear - you can make out the banjo in the orchestration!

    l'americano a parigi sicuro sia diretto da gerswin? per quanto mi risulta l'incisione dovebbe essere di Nathaniel Shilkret, con la supervisione di Gershwin il quale suonò il breve "solo" di celesta.
