Mengelberg - Strauss & Wagenaar

 



I've always appreciated this particular restoration 

of the famous Mengelberg 1928 recording: 

undoubtedly one of the best and most important of that period. 

I've been listening to it again these days 

and since this Pearl CD is now very difficut to find...

Well, here it is.

    That's one of the very greatest performances of any work I've ever heard. I have his KCO version and it's not nearly as good...
