Fritz Busch & Nicolai Malko in Copenhagen (1932-1934)
The Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra had very important guest conductors from '30s to '70s. Among them: Nicolai Malko, Fritz Busch, Eugene Ormandy, Rafael Kubelik and of course (1968-1976) Sergiu Celibidache.
And the "parterre de roi" of great soloists is no less impressive: only in this CD we can listen for Piatigorsky (Dvorák Cello Concerto, 1st mov - what a performance), Horowitz (Tchaikovski 1, 3rd mov), Serkin (Beethoven 4, 1st mov), Nathan Milstein, Wanda Landowska.
But the real "stars" are Fritz Busch (listen for his Carnival overture) & Nicolai Malko; two outstanding and underrated conductors.
Forgotten treasures very well conserved and restored. Don't miss this rarity!
